Instructors
Claire Marie Miller
Claire graduated from the Boulder School of Massage Therapy in 1979. Soon after newly married and pregnant, she taught her first pregnancy massage class called Pleasant Pregnancy. The journey of pregnancy and massage was further developed through receiving extensive massages, from a mother of three teens who shared her mothering wisom as she massaged Claire.
"Judy massaged me in early labor, giving me a full body massage, as we talked of babies and read poetry. What a great way to enter labor! James was born May 4, 1981 after only 2 hours in the hospital and 20 minutes of pushing. I knew the value of massage in pregnancy and during labor."
The gift of a postpartum massage by another friend/massage therapist on the third day of postpartum was equally wonderful.
"I was inspired to believe that all pregnant moms deserved this."
Nurturing the Mother was born out of James's pregnancy and birth and followed by the wisdom learned through Jessica, born Nov 13, 1984 at home, and into her mother's arms. And lastly Danielle born underwater June 1, 1987 into her father's hands.
