Jessica Hope's Conscious Conception Story

The principles that created Nurturing the Mother® Fertility Massage are based on the techniques of cleansing, breaking up congestion, educating about fertility awareness, balancing, and opening both physical and spiritual energy fields. This is truly a holistic approach to support the conception of a spirit into the body. Jessica Hope taught me these principles

She is 23 as I finally write her conception story. She is gorgeous, intelligent, courageous and intense. I know when the spark of her spirit entered my body and we became mother and daughter.

I called her to me, or maybe she called me. I had a drive to conceive and have a baby girl. I prepared. I had no books or prior study, but I knew my body. Fertile mucous and timing were the tools I used, along with my intuition. I had already been doing yoga for many years. I was already a mother to my son James, who I had birthed naturally and nursed for two years. Now I was ready for her. Jessica has often been the most challenging of my three children. She has taught me so much right from the start. She has never ceased being my eternal teacher.

I meditated and talked to you for three months before your conception. I knew you were a girl spirit. I thought you would be a Sagittarius like me. I fasted, I would do periodic cleanses, it seemed so critical to clean out, in preparation for what was to come and now I understand why.

A dear friend of mine had entered my life just a few months before Jessica was conceived. Kate who became not only my friend, but, my teacher and my midwife was already having her own baby conversations with her son.

Kate, Diane (another dear friend), and I all signed up with our partners for a workshop called Opening your Pelvic Energy. I think the guys came along hoping for great sex. The techniques taught included deep pelvic friction. It was powerful and truly did open places in each of us. Out of 8 women who took the class, 5 of us became pregnant. Kate, Diane and I were three of the five and were overjoyed to be pregnant together. Surprisingly it was not intended to be "a get pregnant" workshop. Diane did miscarry, but conceived a few months later. It was soon afterwards, but not immediately following, that Ronnie and I conceived Jessica. I was planning my conscious conception, I knew exactly when and how I wanted my daughter's spirit to enter my womb. The timing had to be perfect.

As I planned and prepared, I talked to her. I had all kinds of ideas surrounding this powerful girl coming to me. She was going to be stronger than I was. Intertwined in this story is astrology, which was and still is an important tool in my life. It is an important part of the timing of Jessica's conception for me.

I was in my first Saturn return when Jessica was conceived. This is a time when you complete the first third of your life. Now with the Saturn cycle, that comes every 27-29 years, it is time to grow up, and take the reins in your life. It is with a burning desire that I wanted this little girl. Saturn shared between mother and daughter is the sharing of tests, sharing that teaches you to grow. It was exactly on my Saturn at 16 degrees of Scorpio that Jessica was consciously conceived in Hope Valley, California. She was born a Scorpio. She continues to be the one of my three children that seems most often be the tester and teacher.

As the time neared ovulation, which I knew would be her conception, I immersed myself in sewing a king size green quilt. I used every shade of green, and green has long been a color I associate with her. It was a log cabin block style. It seemed appropriate that she was conceived in a log cabin we rented for the night.

I told my close girlfriend, Hope, that we were planning to conceive that weekend. Hope was a massage therapist, who I had referred to Christopher Cross. She became his regular massage therapist. Hope became the namesake for my daughter's middle name, along with the valley in which she was conceived. Hope had shared with Christopher our plans to have another baby. Christopher Cross happened to be in Lake Tahoe that same weekend and while dining in the showroom at Harrah's the night before our planned conscious conception, he came up and congratulated Ronnie before we had actually conceived.

When our plans to conceive had arrived, it had all the magic that we hoped for. We cross- country skied in Hope Valley, dined out at a local restaurant, and retired for the night in our cabin in Hope Valley. At the moment of her conception, I felt and saw a glowing light in the room, it was early into the morning, and it was not sunshine.

Ronnie and I both felt the vibration around the egg. I felt different, I was sure she was with me. In the next few days I felt the growing egg, moving down the fallopian tube. My dear friend Diane said that she had felt it too. She later shared that she worried that I may have had a tubal pregnancy. In 5 days I felt the implantation as a gentle cramp.

I never did a pregnancy test, I was absolutely sure I was pregnant.

I had asked Kate to be my midwife for Jessica's birth. In November, I delivered my daughter. It was one of the most profound moments of my life.
